I met Eric Meyer at An Event Apart Chicago years and years ago. Best conference I’ve ever been to, even today. I remember when Eric lost his daughter Rebecca 12 years ago like it was yesterday. I ran across this post today, that he wrote three months ago, about what would have been Rebecca’s 18th birthday.

I don’t know why this has stuck with me so much for so long. I guess because at the time my son wasn’t much older than Rebecca and I couldn’t imagine having to go through what the Meyers went though.

12 years feels like another lifetime.
